Cold Ash Brass is based in the village of Cold Ash, 1 mile north of Thatcham and just 2 miles from Junction 13 (Newbury) of the M4. Formed in April 2003, the Band currently comprises 32 musicians across all sections from Principal Cornet to Percussion. We are always ready to welcome new players, particularly that rarity a Bb Bass player.
On March 16th, 2008, the Band took part in the National Brass Band Championships (4th section) for the first time. In the London and Southern Counties regional heat, Cold Ash came 3rd out of 23 bands, a remarkable result for debutants, and so qualified for the National Finals in Harrogate on September 27th.
Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7:30pm at
St. Mark's School, Cold Ash.
