Cold Ash Brass is very proud to have formed a youth band last year. We aim to provide a fun, free environment for young players to discover and develop a love for playing in a band. We hope they all work their way up to joining the Senior Band. Started only in March 2009, we already have a great group covering most sections of the band. We have 4 cornets, 2 tenor horns, 2 euphoniums, a trombone, 2 basses, and a drummer. They are already enjoying themselves, learning the ropes and improving weekly and have held their own on their first few gigs! They are lead by Brenda Rohweder who is a music teacher at Park House School and a fine trombone player herself. The youth band now meet to practice on Tuesdays at St Mark's School from 7:00 to 8:30. If you would like to join the band, get in touch, or just come along to a practice to have a look - no obligation! Click here to see what pieces are in the youth band repertoire. |
